This guide walks you through connecting your ShipStation account to Qoblex from the Integrations > ShipStation settings page. You will find your ShipStation API key, enter it in Qoblex, test the connection, and save it. Once connected, you can set default shipping choices (carrier, service, package type, and confirmation) that Qoblex applies whenever you send orders to ShipStation.
After completing these steps, ShipStation will be marked as configured in Qoblex, and you can start sending orders to it. You can also update your API key or disconnect the integration at any time from the same page.
Before you begin
- You need the ShipStation integration permission to open and use this page. Without it, the ShipStation settings and its actions are not available to you.
- You need a ShipStation account with access to its API settings so you can generate an API key.
Step 1: Find your ShipStation API key
When ShipStation is not yet connected, the settings page shows a Setup instructions section with this guidance: “Go to your ShipStation account settings, open API Settings, select V2 API from the dropdown, and copy your Production Key.”
Follow that instruction inside ShipStation:
- Open your ShipStation account settings.
- Open API Settings. (The Open API Settings link on the Qoblex page takes you there.)
- Select V2 API from the dropdown.
- Copy your Production Key. This is the value you will paste into Qoblex.
Step 2: Enter and test your API key
- On the Qoblex ShipStation page, select Set API Key. The Set API Key dialog opens.
- In the API Key field, paste the Production Key you copied from ShipStation.
- Select Test Connection. Qoblex checks the key against ShipStation to confirm it is valid. On success you will see a Connection test successful message. If the key is wrong or ShipStation cannot be reached, an error message is shown instead.
- Select Save changes. Qoblex stores your key and marks the integration as configured. On success you will see a Credentials saved successfully message and the dialog closes.
Step 3: Set your default shipping settings
Once ShipStation is configured, the page shows a Default Shipping Settings section, described as “These defaults will be used when creating shipments unless overridden at the order level.”
Fill in the fields you want as defaults:
- Carrier – the shipping carrier to use. The list of carriers comes from your connected ShipStation account.
- Service – the shipping service. The available services depend on the carrier you selected. Choosing a different carrier clears this field so you can pick a service that belongs to that carrier.
- Package Type – the package type. Like services, the available options depend on the selected carrier and are cleared when you change the carrier.
- Confirmation – the delivery confirmation requirement. The choices are:
- No confirmation
- Delivery Confirmation
- Signature required
- Adult signature required
- Direct Signature
When you are done, select Save changes. Your defaults are saved, and you will see a Defaults saved successfully message.
Update your API key
If your ShipStation API key changes, you can update it without disconnecting:
- On the ShipStation page, select Update API Key. The Update API Key dialog opens.
- Enter the new key, optionally select Test Connection to verify it, then select Save changes.
Disconnect ShipStation
To remove the connection, use the Disconnect control on the ShipStation settings page.
- Select Disconnect.
- A confirmation dialog titled Confirm Disconnection from ShipStation asks you to confirm.
- Confirm to disconnect.
Disconnecting removes your saved ShipStation credentials from Qoblex. On success you will see a ShipStation uninstalled message.
