05. Delete a User

Deleting a user removes a person’s access to your Qoblex organization. You delete a user from inside the Update User panel for that person, not from the user card itself.

This article shows you where the Delete button lives, who can be deleted, how the confirmation step works, and what Qoblex does to a deleted user’s record. After reading it you will be able to delete another user, understand why you cannot delete your own account, and know what to expect once the deletion succeeds.

Deleting a user revokes their access immediately and obfuscates their name and email. Be sure you have the right person before you confirm.

Where the Delete button is

There is no delete control on the user card on the Users page. To delete someone, open their Update User panel first:

  1. In the sidebar, open Users.
  2. Click the card of the user you want to delete. The Update User panel slides in from the right.
  3. Look at the bottom of the panel. The red Delete button sits in the footer, on the left, next to Cancel and Save.

The Delete button only appears when you are viewing someone else’s account. On your own card the footer shows only Cancel and Save — there is no Delete button.

Who can be deleted

You can delete any other user in your organization, but you cannot delete your own signed-in account. Qoblex hides the Delete button on your own Update User panel, and the server also rejects a request to delete yourself.

Deletion is currently gated only by the “not yourself” rule — any user who can open another person’s Update User panel sees the Delete button. A dedicated “manage users” permission for deletion is not yet enforced.

How to delete a user

  1. Open Users and click the card of the user you want to delete.
  2. In the Update User panel footer, click Delete.
  3. A Delete User dialog opens asking Are you sure you want to delete this user?
  4. Click Confirm to delete the user, or Cancel to keep them.

When you confirm, Qoblex deletes the user, closes the panel, and refreshes the Users list so the deleted person no longer appears.

What Qoblex does when you delete a user

Deletion does not erase the underlying record. Qoblex marks the user as deleted and locks them out so they can no longer sign in:

  • The user is flagged as deleted and removed from the Users list.
  • Their name and email on the record are replaced with obfuscated placeholder values.
  • Their sign-in account is locked, so any existing session can no longer be used to access your organization.

Because the record is retained rather than erased, historical activity, comments, and operational history that referenced the user are not rewritten.

Each organization’s users are kept separate. You can only see and delete users that belong to your own organization.

Troubleshooting

There is no Delete button
You are either viewing your own account — Qoblex never shows Delete on your own Update User panel — or you have not opened the Update User panel yet. The Delete button is in the panel footer, not on the user card. Click the user’s card on the Users page first.
The deleted user still appears in the list
The list refreshes automatically after a successful deletion. If the person is still showing, refresh the Users page and clear any search term in the search box, then check again.
Deletion failed with an error
Qoblex shows the message it received when a deletion cannot be completed. Close the dialog, confirm you are not trying to delete your own account, and try again. If it keeps failing, note the user’s email and the exact message shown, then contact support.
I deleted the wrong user
A deleted user cannot be restored from the Users page. Invite or create the person again and reassign their permissions according to your organization’s access policy. Their previous permission choices are not restored automatically.
