Once you have connected your Amazon store and chosen your default order settings, the last step of setup is to import your Amazon products. This step reads the list of products you sell on Amazon and links each one to the matching product you already have in Qoblex, so that Amazon orders can be recorded against the right stock going forward.
This article explains what the import does, how to run it during setup, and what to check afterwards. After finishing it, your Qoblex products that share a SKU with your Amazon listings will be linked to their Amazon ASINs, and you will be taken to your Activity feed to review the result.
What the import does
The import pulls your current Amazon product listings and matches them against the products that already exist in your Qoblex catalog. It matches by SKU: for each Amazon listing, Qoblex looks for a product variant whose SKU is the same (matching is not case-sensitive). When it finds a match, it stores the Amazon ASIN against that Qoblex variant as a mapping.
- The import links your existing Qoblex products to their Amazon listings. It records the ASIN of each matched listing against the matching Qoblex product.
- Matching is done by SKU. An Amazon listing is only linked when its seller SKU matches the SKU of a product variant in Qoblex.
- Products that are already linked to this Amazon store are left as they are, so running the import again will not create duplicate links.
- At the end of the import, Qoblex records how many of your products were linked to Amazon products.
Run the import during setup
You run the import from your Amazon integration page. A store that is still being set up shows a Finish Setting Up Your store button.
- Open your Amazon integration from the Integrations page.
- On the Settings tab, confirm your default customer and default location are set. The default customer is required. See Default order settings for details.
- Click Finish Setting Up Your store. Qoblex first saves your settings (you will see the confirmation Amazon integration changes saved), then opens the Import products window.
- In the Import products window, read the message: “To finish your store setup, we need to import your products. This might take a few minutes depending on the number of products to import.” Click Import Products to start.
- Wait while the import runs. The page is locked while it works. Depending on how many products you sell on Amazon, this can take a few minutes.
- When the import has been started successfully, the button changes to Done. Click Done to go to your Activity feed and review the result.
Review the result in Activity
Clicking Done takes you to your Activity feed. The import continues in the background, and its progress and outcome are reported there.
- When the import begins, Activity shows: “We’ve started processing the product import in the background. You’ll be notified once it’s complete.”
- When the linking finishes, Activity shows: “Amazon product mapping completed successfully.” along with a line reporting how many variants were linked to Amazon products, for example “12 variants are linked to Amazon products.”
The number of linked variants tells you how many of your Qoblex products were successfully matched to Amazon listings by SKU. If the number is lower than you expected, some Amazon listings did not have a matching SKU in Qoblex. See the troubleshooting section below.
How linking relates to ASIN mappings
The links created by the import are the same ASIN mappings shown on the Product Sync Status tab of your Amazon integration. That tab lists your products with their Name, Sku, Barcode, and ASIN, where the ASIN is filled in for every product the import matched.
You do not have to rely on SKU matching alone. On the Product Sync Status tab you can review the mappings, correct any that are wrong, and add an ASIN by hand for a product the import could not match. For the full workflow, see Product sync status and ASIN mappings.
Troubleshooting
If the import does not link the products you expected, work through the checks below.
The import links an Amazon listing only when its seller SKU matches the SKU of a product variant in Qoblex, so an unmatched product almost always means the SKUs do not match.
- Confirm the product exists in Qoblex. The import does not create new products; the product must already be in your catalog.
- Compare the SKU in Qoblex with the seller SKU on the Amazon listing. They must be the same value (differences in spacing or extra characters will prevent a match; upper and lower case do not matter).
- Fix the SKU in Qoblex or on Amazon so the two agree, then either run the import again or add the ASIN by hand on the Product Sync Status tab.
If the Amazon report could not be produced or read, Activity shows a warning such as “The Amazon inventory report is unavailable. Please try again.” or “An error occurred while mapping Amazon products. Please try again.”
- Wait a short while and run the import again from the Amazon integration page.
- Confirm your Amazon connection is still authorized. If the connection has been broken, reconnect the store and try the import again.
If a product was matched to the wrong Amazon listing, correct it directly.
- Open the Product Sync Status tab on your Amazon integration.
- Edit the ASIN value in the row for that product, then click Update Mappings to save. See Product sync status and ASIN mappings.
