Switch to Qoblex

Shopify sync settings at go-live

This is the switch itself for a connected Shopify store: the setting that turns Qoblex from a quiet bystander into your store’s stock source. It belongs right at Cutover day, step by step, after your stocktakes are in Draft and before you authorize them.

If you connected this store early and paused it per Set up Qoblex before you switch above, keep the inventory sync dropdown at Do not sync while you’re setting up and rehearsing, so neither system overwrites the other’s stock figures before you’re ready. How would you like to sync your product cost data? needs no change either way, since it already defaults to Do not sync.

The How would you like us to sync your inventory levels (quantity adjustments, stock transfers, purchases…)? dropdown, in the Inventory levels Synchronization section, doesn’t push anything to Shopify the moment you switch it to Sync from Qoblex to Shopify. The push itself fires only when a variant’s quantity or allocation next actually changes in Qoblex — which is exactly why cutover day has you turn this dropdown on before you authorize your stocktakes, purchase orders, and open orders, not after: authorizing them is the change that fires the push.

  1. Open your Shopify store’s settings and, in Inventory levels Synchronization, set the dropdown to Sync from Qoblex to Shopify.
  2. A Sync Inventory? column now appears in the location mapping table (it’s only shown once the dropdown above is set to Sync from Qoblex to Shopify), so do step 1 first. Turn it on for every location that should push its stock to that store. Saving with Do not sync clears this box for every location, so if this store previously had sync paused, expect to re-tick it here rather than find it still on.
  3. Save & Close. From here, every quantity or allocation change you authorize in Qoblex pushes to Shopify as it happens, and a manual change made directly in Shopify is overwritten on the next push.
  4. If you also paused Product Synchronization (direction and the two automatic new-product switches) for the rehearsal, turn those back on whenever you’re ready for Qoblex and Shopify to keep catalogue changes in step; this isn’t tied to the stock cutover itself.

See Connect Shopify and choose your sync settings and Shopify locations, currency, and price lists for where these controls live, and How Shopify product and inventory sync works for exactly how the push works once it’s on.

Matching strategy is set per store connection, so if you rehearsed on a staging store and are now connecting a separate production store (see Rehearse your switch on a staging store), set Match products by SKU again for it — it doesn’t carry over from the staging store’s connection, and Match products by name is the default for a new connection.

Order sync itself has no on/off setting of its own. Once your store is fully connected, your first product import has finished, and your subscription is active, Shopify orders flow into Qoblex automatically. There’s nothing to switch on for it separately, so be aware that connecting a store that already has live orders on it will start pulling those in as soon as the product import completes.
