Updating a user lets you change a team member’s name, the timezone their dates and times display in, and the permissions that control what they can see and do in Qoblex. From the same panel you can resend an invitation to someone who has not joined yet.
This article explains how to open a user, which details you can change (and why email is fixed), how to save a permissions change, and how to reinvite a pending user. After reading it you will be able to edit any team member’s profile and permissions and resend invitations with confidence.
How to open a user
- Open Users from the main navigation.
- Click the card for the user you want to change.
Qoblex opens a side panel titled Update User. The panel loads that user’s current name, email, timezone, and permissions.
Each user card carries a verification mark next to the name. A coloured mark means This user email is already verified.; a grey mark means Email is not verified yet ! A card also shows This user has not joined yet when the person was invited but has not yet accepted, so you can spot pending invitations before opening the panel.
What you can change
Inside the Update User panel you can edit three things:
- User Name — the team member’s display name. Required.
- Time zone — the timezone the user normally works in, so dates and times display correctly for them. The field has no caption; until you pick one it shows the placeholder Select timezone. Required.
- Permissions — the permissions matrix that controls what the user can see and do. See the permissions matrix for how each switch works.
Name and timezone are both required. If you clear one and try to save, Qoblex shows This field is required on the empty field and does not save.
Why you cannot change the email
The User Email field is shown but cannot be edited for an existing user — it is locked.
Below the email field is a Change your email link. Hovering it explains the supported workaround:
In other words, email is the identity Qoblex invited and cannot be reassigned in place. To move a person to a new address, invite the new email as a new user, have them accept it, then delete the old user.
How to save a permissions change
- In the Update User panel, set the switches in the permissions matrix to match the user’s role.
- Click Save.
When the save succeeds, the panel closes and the Users list refreshes so the card shows the latest name and pending state. If the save fails, Qoblex shows the error and keeps your entries so you can correct them and try again.
After a permissions change takes effect, a user who is currently signed in may still see their old access until they sign out and back in. If access still looks wrong after that, and the user belongs to more than one company, confirm they are testing in the same company where you made the change.
How to reinvite a pending user
When a user has not yet accepted their invitation, the Update User panel shows a This user has not joined yet badge at the top, plus a CAPTCHA box and a Reinvite User button.
- Complete the CAPTCHA verification. Reinvite User stays disabled until you do.
- Click Reinvite User.
While Qoblex sends the invitation it shows Working on getting an invitation out to your team member…. On success it shows Invitation sent successfully; if it fails without a more specific message it shows Failed to send invitation. Please try again.
Because you cannot change a pending user’s email here, confirm the address is correct before reinviting. If the email is wrong, invite the correct address as a new user instead and remove the incorrect one.
Deleting a user
A red Delete button appears in the bottom-left of the panel — but only when you are editing someone else’s account. Qoblex hides it when you open your own user, so you cannot delete yourself.
The full delete flow and what happens to the removed user’s access is covered in Delete a user.
